now the game can be kissed good-bye. we can't buy a hit and if we get one that is all we get. CC was good enough but the Yankee line-up looked like a deer
in headlights. wake up team. a victory by Phils here in game one is HUGE for them. And who knows how Hughes will do now.

cc struggles and gives up 2 runs in 7 innings. our bp then collapses and gives up 2 runs, so far, in 1 inning. just great. imagine what life will be like with
AJ tomorrow. what a pathetic showing by our bp. Hughes gives up 2 runs in 0 innings--how does one calculate that ERA? Infinity?

The team that has won Game 1 has won about 98% of the last 15 World Series. We're down 4-0 and could very well go down in flames. Home field is now with
Phillies. The Dodgers did the same thing. Lost Game 1. Won Game 2, then got swept in Philly. Cliff Lee made everyone look just sick.

The Phils are now favored in the series in my opinion. Our pitching plummets after CC. AJ is a head case so who knows what will happen. Our bp has collapsed.
Andy P is hit and miss. Rollins may be right.

well i wanted an old fashioned drubbing but i'd hoped that the phils would be the victim of it. not so. our bp has disappeared. we are in huge trouble if
the bp doesn't turnaround in a n y minute. this is ugly, plain and simple.

The only positive note is the Yankees avoided the shutout and it took an error by Rollins to accomplish that. Nothing to be happy about for sure. Phillies are
the favorites now. We have to take 2-of-3 in Philly and I'm not sure we've got the pitching to do it.

Relax- it's one game. Cliff Lee was masterful. Jeff, I wouldn't say CC was awful - he just wasn't masterful like Cliff Lee. Yes he struggled with
with his command but it comes down to it he basically gave up 2 HRs on 2 bad pitches to Utley. He got some tough outs and really hung in there for us. Our BP
however sucked. Hughes looks lost and Robertson should have put away the hitter he had 0-2 with 2 out. The worst was our batters, sans Jeter, everyone else
looked like they didn't have any thought process or plan at the plate. Matsui is pissing me off big time-perhaps it is time to park his ass on the bench!

First of all, it's a long series. Lat's sit back and enjoy the games. Tonight was the Phillies night and I feel good for their fans. We have too
good a team not to put up a great fight and win the series. ARod had a bad game. He will come back. He needs to build up his legacy and erase the postseason
choke label. Tex needs to come out of his slump big. I am not as upset with Matsui as I am with Swisher. This guy is a liability in the field and when he is
hot he is unstoppable at the plate. When he is cold as he is now he simply sucks big time. He needs to sit.

I haven't given up guys, I'm just spouting facts. The last six World Series winners took Game 1. Last night that wasn't our team. Swisher's
last name is becoming his mantra at the plate. SWISH!!! I think it's time to give Gardner a shot at the lineup. He can create so many headaches for a
pitcher. Andy, you're 1,000% right. AJ needs to come up big.

Thoughts: Swisher sits. Gardner is in. AJ is pitching the biggest game of his career and needs to be up to it. I'm not quite sure what to do with the bp
but it seems Hughes is overwhelmed--Mo needs to get the kid under control fast. Frankly I'm not sure he can be trusted. Personally, CC was great all
things considered. But, Lee just owned the offense. Tonight is our night.
Just read that Swisher is being seated and Hairston is his replacement.
