F'ing Chamberlain!!! Started nibbling and had to throw him a 3-2 fastball....of course right down the middle. Ruiz just sat on it. We're fooked now. We
got to face Lee tomorrow. Nice going Joba. YOU SUCK!

God Bless Johnny Damon. That was the smartest base running decision I've ever seen. A-Rod just earned his paycheck. Posada had a huge hit, but did a dumb
thing again on the bases and ended the inning. Joba Chamberlain, if we win, better kiss Damon's, ARod's and Posada's asses.

Richie was more nervous than me during that half an inning. Damon's baserunning made that entire sequence-what a brilliant play!!! Now it's up to mo.
One out away from forcing the Phillies backs against the walls. Mary Ann

Any wonder why Mariano Rivera is the greatest closer of all time? If this guy isn't a unanimous entry into the HOF, they ought to do an investigation.

The funny thing about Damon stealing two bases in the ninth....all the post-game interviews made it sound like the Phillies had never prepared for such a thing
to happen! LOL
That's fundamental baseball when you shift the infield over and the third baseman is covering second. As soon as the catcher attempts to cut down a runner heading to second, the pitcher is suppose to break for third. Lidge just stood on the mound watching Damon bounce up and keep running! He said afterwords that he had no idea who was suppose to be protecting third base. Guess he missed that meeting during spring training. lol |

I'll tell you what, if I had to vote for MVP right now I'd give a long hard look to Damon, if for no other reason the stealing of 3d last night. That
play altered the calculus of the game in so many ways and paved the way to a Yankee victory positioning us in the catbird seat. Just great.

Jeff, it wasn't just the stolen bases, it was the at bat he threw up there against Lidge. He fouled off a number of tough pitches-the same pitches that
Lidge got Matsui and Jeter out with-and just grinded out the at bat. He certainly didn't give in or give up(read this Cano and learn a lesson), he just
said I am going to continue to put the bat on the ball and foul off these pitches until I get my pitch to hit. The at bat was the foundation, the stolen bases
were the continuation of the the foundation and the hit by Alex was the needed finishing touch. Just a great instinctual piece of hitting and baserunning.
That is experience and focus, something you can't teach.

You are absolutely correct. Damon proved his value yesterday. And, you just can't teach that you've got to learn it from playing the game. Unlike
Cano Johnny didn't just go through the motions waiting for stuff to happen--he made it happen. My vote for MVP.

Melky was replaced on the postseason roster with Ramiro Pena, he is done for the rest of this series. Gardner gets the start in CF as expected and Molina will
be behind the plate again. I have a very good feeling about this game. Call me crazy but I believe we will finish this out tonight. Yes, I realize that we are
facing Cliff Lee but my gut tells me we can get this done. My theme for the night is "unlikely heroes" will prevail for the Yanks. I will be
especially excited to see Gardy getting his first start of this postseason. He could wreak some havoc if he can get on base. C'mon Yanks, let's finish
these guys off!! Mary Ann

Jeff,Russ, where are youguys??? You don't want to miss this!! Let's Go Yanks!!!! An aside to the game is the hilarious pregame analysis by Ozzie
Guillen-if you can call it that. I'll say one thing for the guy, what he lacks in polish, he certainly makes up for in entertainment value. Good call by
the Foxies for spicing up their coverage. Mary Ann

I'm sicker than a dog Mary Ann. Feel like crap. I'll come downstairs at the end of the innings. Damon and A-Rod got us on the board. I predicted a win
tonight. Lee isn't as sharp as he was in Game 1. Hopefully, AJ doesn't follow suit.
